| Congratulations to Ian Seidel for winning First Place in the Anderson-Independent Halloween story-writing contest for grades 1 and 2. Ian is in Mrs. Farmer's Second Grade. Jake Jones, in Mrs. Haynes' Second Grade won second place in the story contest. Jake Jones is not only a winning writer but a winning reader. He was the top student reader at Concord for the summer of 2009. He read 4734 (Continued...) | |||

| 2009 Storytelling Festival Ends | Thursday, September 24 | ||
| Anderson County Library's Starburst Storytelling Festival ended on Thursday evening. Wright Clarkson from Charlotte was the featured teller the final night. Tim Lowry told stories Monday evening and was the featured artist-in-residence at Anderson University during the festival. He has visited Concord a number of times, as early as 1991, when he was still in college. He was here this past (Continued...) | |||
